What do you do to relax/take a break from studio?
Jack – It really depends on the day. Weather permitting, I love playing disc golf. I have been disc golfing for over 10 years now and it is one of my favorite pastimes. The Bowling Green course is pretty bad, but it is a fun way to spend an hour. Besides that, I watch a lot of anime in my free time. I grew up watching it with my dad and have continued enjoying the medium to this day. It is the reason I chose to base my Honors Project around Architecture in Anime.
Isabelle - When I am relaxing outside of the studio, I like to hang out with friends or play my guitar. I also love to be outdoors in nature.
Gianna - To relax from studio, I spend time with my roommates and boyfriend. I also love going outside to have a picnic or work out. This usually makes me feel less stressed about studio because it is distracting.
JP – I like to walk around campus and appreciate the new and old architecture. I also like to sketch random things while watching Netflix or YouTube.
Fletch – I love to drive and explore the area around Northwest Ohio by myself and with my friends. When I explore, I take pictures and videos and when I can’t go out, I stay home and work on whatever random project or video games my friends and I are into that month. Sometimes it’s Minecraft and sometimes it’s GTA V idk.
Robert – To relax from studio, I slackline, climb, hike, and hang out with friends.
Madeline – To take a break from studio, I like playing piano, drawing, watching a show, and hanging out with friends.
Erin - When I am relaxing outside of studio I enjoy baking, drawing, and watching cartoons.
Gabby - Dance provides both cardio exercise and creative expression that help relieve me of the stress and expectation of studio life. Not only does it serve as an escape from thinking about studio, but it also contributes greatly to balancing my mental and physical health.
Sydnie – As of this past summer I have been taking more time to focus on both my mental and physical health on top of balancing it with my day-to-day life. Going to the gym before or after studio has really helped me. I try going 4-5 times a week, on days off I like going thrifting, or dedicating extra time to my graphic and print work.
Josh – If I still have energy after studio, I really enjoy cooking. It’s something I look forward to doing even after a long day. Aside from that I really enjoy music, I play the trumpet and a little bit of piano.
Gabby Vitela - I usually like to do something to take my mind off of my work. This means either doing puzzles, board games, other brain games, etc. I also love to swim!
Ayden – I like to go longboarding with my friends and explore while we’re at it. Finding new routes and roads to go down is always fresh and exciting!
